1. Introduction

Welcome to Motor Vehicle Trade (MVT). By accessing or using our platform, website, services, or affiliated channels, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

Motor Vehicle Trade (MVT) operates as a regulated automotive marketplace platform that oversees listings, dealer participation, service providers, and automotive-related transactions within our network.

2. Regulatory Oversight Within the Platform

Motor Vehicle Trade (MVT):

• Regulates all dealer, mechanic, tuner, parts supplier, and service provider participation on our platform.
• Reviews and approves listings before publication.
• Monitors compliance with internal standards of transparency and ethical conduct.
• Has authority to suspend, restrict, or permanently remove any participant who violates policies.

MVT regulates activity within its platform environment but does not replace statutory regulatory authorities.

3. Dealer and Service Provider Requirements

All participants must:

• Provide accurate and truthful information.
• Disclose material vehicle history where applicable.
• Operate lawfully within the Republic of South Africa.
• Comply with the Consumer Protection Act and related legislation.
• Cooperate with verification and compliance checks conducted by MVT.

4. Listings and Representations

• All listings must be factual and not misleading.
• Pricing must be transparent.
• False advertising or concealment of defects is prohibited.
• MVT may remove any listing at its discretion if standards are not met.

5. Consumer Protection and Dispute Oversight

MVT promotes a fair and transparent automotive marketplace.

• Users are encouraged to resolve disputes directly.
• MVT may assist with mediation at its discretion.
• MVT may investigate complaints and take enforcement action where necessary.

MVT does not guarantee outcomes of transactions but enforces compliance within its ecosystem.

6. Prohibited Conduct

Strictly prohibited:

• Fraudulent listings
• Sale of stolen vehicles or illegal components
• Odometer tampering
• Manipulation of reviews
• Harassment or abusive behaviour

Violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal.

7. Limitation of Liability

Motor Vehicle Trade (MVT) provides a regulated marketplace platform but does not take ownership of vehicles or services listed unless expressly stated.

MVT is not liable for:

• Losses arising from transactions between users
• Mechanical failures after sale
• Misrepresentation by third parties

Users transact at their own discretion.

8. Listing Credits — Refund Policy

Listing credits are a prepaid digital product. Once purchased, credits are non-refundable except in the following circumstances:

• A technical error by MVT resulted in credits not being applied to your account.
• A duplicate payment was processed in error.

Refund requests must be submitted to support@motorvehicletrade.co.za within 7 days of purchase with proof of payment. Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days via the original payment method.

MVT reserves the right to decline refund requests where credits have already been used.

9. POPIA Compliance

Motor Vehicle Trade (MVT) is committed to full compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) of the Republic of South Africa. For details, see our Privacy Policy.

10. Compliance with South African Law

All users must comply with applicable South African legislation, including but not limited to:

• Consumer Protection Act
• National Road Traffic Act
• Electronic Communications and Transactions Act
• Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)

11. Amendments

MVT reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of revised terms.

12. Acceptance

By using Motor Vehicle Trade (MVT), you acknowledge and agree that:

• MVT regulates all activity within its platform environment.
• You will comply with MVT standards and South African law.
• Non-compliance may result in suspension or permanent removal.
